Reading AuctionBytes: eBay Rolls Out 'New Way to Shop on eBay'

eBay's Shri Mahesh, VP of Product Marketing (eBay North America), posted an announcement on the company's Announcement Board Wednesday announcing a new way to search. The rollout, occurring over the next week, is an early alpha test version of a project that introduces a "New Way to Shop on eBay."

Mahesh said eBay is hoping the new functionality will make keyword searches more intuitive and efficient by leveraging existing elements of a listing on eBay, such as item title, item specifics, and category. It will provide ways to narrow listings results according to size, color, type, brand, or even a combination of attributes.

Tentative dates for the phased launch are: May 4 - Bedding and Glass (opt-in only); May 6 - Shoes; May 9 - Art, Event Tickets and TVs. Users can take a poll to let eBay know what they think at http://pages.ebay.com/magellan/opinion.html
