eBay announced some enhancements to its site on Tuesday, including improvements to its photo-hosting service and the speed with which pages load.
eBay said it changed the way its search and listings pages are created so that they can be downloaded more quickly. The changes will especially benefit members using slower dial-up connections to access eBay.

eBay has made some improvements to its Picture Manager to let sellers immediately load photos while listing auctions. Previously members needed to first upload a picture to Picture Manager and then insert it (as a separate step) into the listing they were creating.
eBay said sellers will also be able to track pictures so they can identify which of their hosted pictures are being used in active listings. Other improvements include a faster display, support for additional web browsers - including Firefox, and an improved design.

eBay also said it will begin presenting a new page upon signing in to eBay to provide information about promotions, events, and features around the site. It will continue to use the page to show account alerts when action is needed by members, such as providing a valid email address or handling an unpaid item reminder.
