eBay Motors Glitch Hurts Seller Traffic

Reading AuctionBytes: eBay Motors Glitch Hurts Seller Traffic

Sellers on eBay Motors have been complaining sine May 18th about a glitch affecting the category links at the top of every auction. The glitch affects shoppers' ability to find similar auctions to the one they are looking at, and sellers report hit counters are showing a decrease in traffic to their listings.

When a shopper is viewing an eBay Motors listing, a "breadcrumb trail" menu displays at the top showing them the category structure they are viewing. For example, "Listed in category: eBay Motors > Passenger Vehicles > BMW > X-Series" appears at the top of a BMW X-series car. Clicking on any of those categories normally takes the shopper to a list of other items for sale in that category. Clicking on one, like X-Series, for example, now takes shoppers to a category list on eBay.com that includes antiques, computers & networking, and music - but no BMWs - or any other cars, for that matter.
