Abidia has released Wireless 3.0, its latest application for mobile devices that now supports completed item searches on eBay. The company said it was the most requested new feature by users of its application designed for wireless handheld and mobile phone devices.
Abidia provides solutions for mobile devices to search, monitor and bid on eBay and Overstock auctions. This week it released its third-generation wireless application for eBay on the Palm OS platform.
Mike Burch, Chief Technical Officer of Abidia, said most of the company's customers are using mobile devices to access the U.S. eBay.com site (63 percent), followed by eBay UK (10 percent), eBay Germany (8 percent) and eBay Italy (7 percent). Users also use the application to view auctions on eBay France, Overstock Auctions and other eBay international sites. Abidia recently added support for eBay India.

Burch said historically the company has seen more sellers than buyer syncs, but they generally stay within 5 percent of each other. Actual usage statistics for the latest month show how customers are using the application:
Sync Buying Lists: 30%
Sync Selling Lists: 28%
Search for Keyword(s): 14%
View Item Listing: 10%
Add item to Watch List: 4%
Bid on an Item: 2%
Remove Item from watch list: .2%
Abidia Wireless 3.0 costs $4.99 per month or a one-time $39.99. Registered users of previous versions can upgrade for $19.99. A fully functional 15-day trial version is also available for download. In order to use Abidia's service, users need an auction account, a compatible device and Internet data access. Burch said in North America many wireless providers offer unlimited data plans in the $20-$30 range, for instance Sprint PCS Vision is available at $24.99 Month, and T-Mobile offers unlimited Internet for $19.99 a month (or a WAP-only plan at $4.99/month.)
Abidia Wireless is currently available for Palm Powered devices, including the Treo Smartphone, Windows Mobile-based Pocket PCs, Windows Mobile-based Smartphones, and Windows Mobile 5.0. Support for BlackBerry Wireless Handheld devices, Symbian Series 60 Platform, Symbian UIQ Platform, and Java enabled (J2ME) mobile phone and device editions is coming soon.
The company just put a PDA site online, optimized for handheld devices (http://pda.abidia.com) which makes installation easier for Palm, Pocket PC and Smartphone devices. Abidia Wireless 2.x supports the other devices currently (BlackBerry, Symbian, and Java), and there is a preview version of Abidia Wireless 3.0 for BlackBerry available to registered users.
