ChannelAdvisor announced new functionality to its self-service marketplace management software, ChannelAdvisor Merchant, designed to give top merchants an automated way to manage and grow sales on eBay and other online marketplaces.
A key enhancement is the addition of Shopping Channels, which allows merchants to quickly and easily direct products from a ChannelAdvisor Store to several comparison shopping engines including Froogle, Yahoo Shopping, Shopping.com, Shopzilla, Smarter and NextTag. (eBay recently announced it will acquire Shopping.com, and Scripps announced yesterday it will acquire Shopzilla, see other story in today's newsletter.)
Other enhancements include a Promotions Manager, which allows merchants to encourage repeat sales by offering discounts to buyers either on merchandise or shipping amounts; shipping enhancements; and internaitonal features, including support for the Value Added Tax (VAT) in Europe and GST in Australia.
Other international enhancements include translating invoices/packing slips, additional translations for valid payment types; customization of checkout fields based on country, offers metric weight measurements in both the metric and English systems and support of Switch/Maestro, Solo and Delta credit cards at checkout. ChannelAdvisor said these features will improve the buyer experience in the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, Spain and France.
President and CEO Scot Wingo said the company also continues to invest behind the scenes in software architecture to ensure what he calls RSA: reliability, scalability and availability.
