eBay has introduced changes to a dispute process it launched in January. The "Item Not Received or Significantly Not as Described" process requires buyers and sellers to communicate online in a "dispute console" on eBay. eBay has created a new response for sellers to explain that payment has not yet been received or has not yet cleared.
Sellers had expressed frustration that buyers could file disputes 10 days after the transaction date, instead of the previous 30-day waiting period, because they claimed it often takes longer than 10 days for the seller to receive payment, not to mention send the package and have it delivered to the buyer.
eBay will also now allow suspended users to have access to their dispute console after their suspension so they can continue to communicate with their transaction partners to try and reach agreement. They will be limited to responding to open disputes and will not be able to file new disputes.
