eBay Eliminates Fees for Printing Shipping Labels

eBay is eliminating the 20-cent fee it had charged sellers for using its shipping label feature. eBay introduced the feature last year, giving sellers the ability to print shipping labels with pre-filled address information that could billed directly to their PayPal accounts.

The announcement was posted by Bill Cobb on the eBay Announcement Board on Friday. Cobb, President of eBay North America, said the fee elimination had been set to be announced at eBay Live, but because it will be available on Friday, he wanted to share the news early. ("Keeping secrets is hard," he posted.) eBay Live is the company's annual user convention, and the fourth event is set to take place June 23 - 25 in San Jose.

Cobb said one of his priorities is to make shipping less of a hassle for users, and, "put simply, we want to do for shipping what we did for online payments when we acquired PayPal and integrated it into the transaction flow on eBay."
