Overstock Auctions to use Sellathon as its Default Hit Counter Provider

Overstock.com today announced an integration partnership with Sellathon to provide sellers on Overstock Auctions with free access to ViewTracker, Sellathon's premium auction counter.

As Overstock Auctions' default hit counter, Sellathon will be providing basic metrics and analytics tools to all Overstock sellers at no cost to the user, and will make optional upgrades available to those sellers who need more features and functionality. "We are excited to be partnering with Sellathon and offer their services, free of charge, to our sellers," said Holly MacDonald-Korth, senior vice president of auctions at Overstock.com. "We hope the insight they will gain from Sellathon's tools will make them more successful sellers and business people."

All Overstock sellers will be able to track - in real time - where their auction visitors are coming from, which keywords are being used to find their auctions, whether they're repeat visitors or not, which days receive the most traffic to listings, and more.

Sellers use Sellathon's data to help them measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and optimize their auction listings. Sellathon CEO Wayne Yeager said, "Online auction sellers are just like any other business people... the more information they have, the easier it is to make informed business decisions. If all you know is 29 people saw your auction page, that doesn't tell you very much. But if, for example, you learn that 27 of those 29 found you by browsing, as opposed to searching, that means you probably need to work on your titles and descriptions so that more people can find you with searches too."

The Overstock/Sellathon co-branded counter is currently in development and is expected to be available to sellers by the end of July.
