San Jose, Calif., June 23, 2005 - AuctionBytes.com is on the road in San Jose, California, providing in-depth coverage of the 4th annual eBay Live! Conference. Ina Steiner, editor of AuctionBytes, and members of the AuctionBytes staff are on-site, attending presentations, conducting interviews, and writing articles for AuctionBytes Newsflash. The convention this year is divided into two separate events: the eBay Developers Conference (June 21-22) and eBay Live! 2005 (June 23-25).
Headquartered in the Fairmont Hotel in downtown San Jose, the Developers Conference is providing third-party developers the opportunity to network with one another and learn about the latest in plans "to unleash the next level of innovation," according to Greg Isaacs, director of eBay Developers Program.
Announcements so far include the introduction of the Community Codebase for Open Source Developers, plans to enhance PayPal's accessibility for small to medium businesses, and forward-looking ops, such as eBay availability through cable TV/TIVOs, mobile devices, video game consoles, and voice recognition.
As Lynn Reedy, Chief Technology Officer, eBay Marketplace said in her keynote, the goal is to "empower eBay users to interact with eBay wherever they are." Approximately 550 members of the eBay Developers community are estimated in attendance.
Thursday, coverage will shift to eBay Live!, the celebration of the eBay community in all its variety, with over 10,000 attendees anticipated. This year's convention also marks the 10th year of operation for eBay, making the event especially noteworthy. The location will shift to the McEnery Convention Center, also in downtown San Jose.
