The darling of the PayPal customer service discussion boards has resurfaced after a hiatus. Known to eBay and PayPal users as "PayPal Damon," Damon Billian has joined Simply Hired, a search engine for jobs co-founded by another PayPal alumnus, Dave McClure.

Damon will head Simply Hired's community efforts. The company also announced the launch of "Simply Forums," (http://forum.simplyhired.com/). Simply Forum is a community message board that covers a range of subjects from job search and resume tips to lighter topics such as "interview oops," workplace pranks, and dating in the office.

"Since our mission is about helping job seekers, we want to provide a place on our site for people to share workplace stories and problems they encounter while looking for a job," said Gautam Godhwani, CEO and co-founder of Simply Hired. "We chose Damon Billian to spearhead the community effort because he's a proven community builder and especially skilled at translating community feedback into valuable product ideas."

Damon was a well known fixture at the PayPal discussion boards where frustrated users turned for help in getting problems fixed. He built tremendous goodwill and was missed when he left the company.

"When it comes to frustration around a process, I think finding a job ranks high on everyone's top ten list," said Damon Billian, Simply Hired's newest member. "My goal is not only to be a friendly face to job seekers and discontented employees, but also to tap the community for ways that Simply Hired can improve the job search process."

Simply Hired aggregates and indexes data from a wide variety of sources including large and small job boards, newspaper and classified listings, and company websites. It is a privately held company, headquartered in Mountain View, California.
