Kijiji, eBay's international classifieds group, announced it has acquired Opusforum (www.opusforum.org), a local classifieds Web site based in Germany.

Opusforum, founded in 2002 by Klaus Gapp, is a leading city-based classifieds Web site in Germany. It offers service in 55 cities, the majority of which are in Germany, and eBay said it had more than 1 million unique visitors in May 2005 according to comScore Media Metrix. Opusforum listings include those for jobs, housing, and services.

"Opusforum is an impressive business with an extensive reach in Germany," said Alex Kazim, senior vice president of new ventures at eBay, responsible for Kijiji. "Together, we are well positioned to grow classifieds in Germany and create an even more efficient place for local consumers to come together online."

Opusforum is available in 45 regions and cities in Germany as well as 10 cities in Austria and Switzerland.
