Auction software developer Sellathon.com announced the launch of a new service that provides sellers with a searchable database of common search terms used on eBay. The new service, called "SellerPower," is powered by eBay search data collected by Sellathon's ViewTracker product, and contains over one billion individual searches.
Sellathon CEO Wayne Yeager said, "One of the features of our ViewTracker product is the ability to see the search terms buyers use to find your auctions. By aggregating this search data from millions of auctions every month, we maintain a pretty significant sample size of the whole eBay search landscape."
Yeager said the primary benefit of such a database is to help sellers optimize their auction titles by incorporating the actual words and phrases that potential buyers are searching for. SellerPower users enter a string of characters into a search box, and the database returns a ranked list of searches performed on eBay that contain those characters. For example, entering "can" into the SellerPower search box revealed terms containing the letters "can."
Presently, SellerPower users can only choose to see data for the past 90 days, or for the whole year. But Yeager said that plans are in the works to make the database searchable by a specific date range.
Sellathon is pricing the offer at an introductory price of $49 for 3 months with unlimited access to the keyword database.
