After testing feedback sorting, eBay will now officially allow it on the eBay Australia website. The new feature allows users to filter feedback comments by rating type (positive, neutral and negative).
The announcement read, "In order to evaluate the effectiveness of a system which allowed for such feedback filtering a series of trials were conducted in several eBay markets. We are pleased to announce that following the success of those trials we will introduce the functionality on eBay.com.au."
At last month's eBay Live conference, President of eBay North America Bill Cobb specifically said the feature would not be added to eBay.com. Feedback-sorting is controversial among users, but a third-party service that provides a negative-feedback lookup tool has ardent fans (http://www.toolhaus.org/).
