Reading AuctionBytes: eBay Makes Changes to Emails and Send-Invoice Features

eBay will be updating several of its site emails in early August. Emails including End of Auction notices and Bid Confirmation emails will have a more consistent design and will include a standard user greeting consisting of a user's first and last name and User ID. eBay warned users that the From and Subject fields in some of the emails would also be changing: "If you have rules set up within your own email client to filter emails based on either the From or Subject fields, please see our discussion thread on the Auction Listings board that includes details about which emails will be affected to help you update your rules."

eBay will also be updating the Send Invoice process and the Payment Status page within checkout. eBay is adding a Seller Discounts or Charges field to the invoice: "Any amount entered in this field by the seller will be displayed to buyers on the Review Your Purchase page during checkout, along with the updated total. You will also be able to preview how your invoice looks before you send it."

eBay will also make available a printer-friendly version of both the buyer and seller versions of the Payment Status page during checkout.
