Random Treasures Auctions, a New Jersey based auction house, is offering 500 lots in its current auction ending at 8 pm on July 22. The auction includes over 80 elusive magic sets originating from the collection of Joel Miller (1937-2003), one of the best-known collectors in the field. According to Don Flanagan, president of Random Treasures Auctions, this is the largest assembly of magic sets ever offered.
Some of the sets include an 1870's "The Conjurer by Konrad Bohm – German Magic Set; an 1870's "Jeu d'Escamotage" – French Magic Set; and an 1870 "Physique Amusante" French Magic Set. In addition to the magic sets, the Random Treasures auction will also feature a selection of magic posters including the super rare Houdini Milk Can Escape poster, which was Houdini's own personal copy, and important vintage magic apparatus and ephemera including a fabulous Mystery Clock by Robert-Houdin, and 200 lots of rare magic books from the 17th century to present.
