Oodle, a search engine for local online classifieds, announced that consumers can now use maps on Oodle to search for classified listings. By combining Oodle Search with Google Maps, consumers can easily see what listings are available in their neighborhood or near their workplace.
Craig Donato, co-founder of Oodle, said, "With Oodle results on a map, users can quickly zoom in on only those listings in the right place."
Paul Rademacher was one of the first to launch a Google Maps "mashup," as the overlaying of data points on maps is referred to, when he created a site that blended classifieds from Craigslist with Google Maps (http://paulrademacher.com/housing).
A company spokesperson said the maps on Oodle are rolling out over the next few weeks, with real estate listings available first, then the other sections.
