Each Overstock Auctions user has been given a unique URL to send to his or her friends on MySpace (http://www.myspace.com), a "lifestyle portal for networking online." Users receive a $5 credit to use on the Overstock Shopping site every time one of their friends becomes a verified registered user on Overstock Auctions by following the user's unique referral link. News Corporation recently acquired Intermix Media Inc., which runs MySpace, for approximately $580 million.
