Yahoo released a new product for developers and website owners, the Yahoo Shopping API. Using the Shopping API, developers can create applications that search the Yahoo database of millions of products and thousands of merchants, displaying prices and enabling searches in new and innovative ways.

"The idea is to let folks use Web services calls to pull data from our comparison shopping database to republish on their Web sites or within software applications," said Jeffrey McManus, Director of the Yahoo Developer Network.
