Yahoo Small Business introduced a beta version of a completely redesigned checkout process for Yahoo Merchant Solutions. Yahoo's new Checkout Manager allows merchants to customize the visual design of their stores' checkout pages to ensure a consistent look and feel with their own branding. They can control the checkout page content and fields to enable them to collect information unique to their businesses. Yahoo said merchants can also control the font, colors, button appearance, and the content displayed in designated navigation areas across the site, from initial browsing to the checkout pages.
In addition, merchants can choose a single or multi-page checkout. Shipping and coupon calculators are available on the shopping cart page so that consumers can determine the entire cost of a purchase at the beginning of the checkout process.
Yahoo Small Business offers web-hosting, domains and business mail in addition to Yahoo Merchant Solutions, which gives merchants the ability to create a custom online storefront at their own domain name. Yahoo says its Merchant Solutions service enables more than 35,000 merchants to sell billions of dollars of merchandise annually.
