Smart counters are now available to sellers at no charge on Overstock Auctions. The counters are provided through Sellathon in a deal announced last June (http://www.auctionbytes.com/cab/abn/y05/m06/i21/s04).
The "smart" counters were launched on Wednesday and provide traffic-tracking data, also known as analytics. In addition to a count of the number of times an Overstock Auctions listing page was viewed, sellers will see a 12-hour traffic graph representing all the hits to that page on a per-hour basis. Also displayed are the total number of watches that have been placed on the item and the number of unique visits the page has received.
The first time a seller posts an item that displays an O-Tracker counter, a Sellathon account will be created for him or her, and a Sellathon username and password will be sent via email.
Sellathon launched ViewTracker, a more sophisticated tracking tool for eBay sellers, in October 2003.
