Register.com announced it will work with eBay's ProStores service to offer StoreSense to Register.com's Web hosting customers. StoreSense enables customers to design eCommerce Web pages, take orders, calculate shipping charges, process credit cards, track inventory, and also start and manage eBay auctions. StoreSense users can sell products and services from their own Web sites while also marketing to eBay's extensive audience of potential buyers. Register.com is a provider of global domain registration and Web business services
eBay acquired StoreSense as part of the technology assets it purchased from Kurant. It used the acquisition to create the ProStores service, which allows eBay sellers to create a customized ecommerce storefront independent of the eBay marketplace
