New Auction Site to Hold Funeral for eBay Monopoly
By Ina Steiner

UniqueAuction.com issued a press release to announce a funeral for eBay to "mourn the loss of another monopoly." UniqueAuction is a Canadian company and does not appear to allow individuals or businesses to sell on the site. Rather, members bid on merchandise listed by UniqueAuction.

According to the release:

On September 20th at 11:45, UniqueAuction will deliver flowers and a condolences card to eBay's Canadian headquarters at 2 St. Clair Avenue East in Toronto. At 12:10 pm, a funeral procession for eBay will begin at Toronto City Hall, 100 Queen Street West. The casket will respectfully be draped with a R.I.P eBay quilt and be solemnly carried towards the Toronto Stock Exchange at 130 King Street to pay tribute to the monopoly eBay held for the past 10 years. At 12:35 there will then be a eulogy for eBay in front of the TSX, where a large crowd is expected to attend and mourn the loss of another monopoly.
