Pierre Omidyar, founder of eBay and co-founder of Omidyar Network with his wife Pam, will be speaking at the Web 2.0 conference next month. The session, "A Conversation with Pierre Omidyar," takes place at 4:30 on October 7 at the Argent Hotel in San Francisco. Omidyar is Chairman of eBay's board. Also speaking is another member of eBay's board of directors, Scott Cook, who co-founded Intuit Inc. in 1983.
The event speakers looks like a roster of Internet Who's Who (http://www.web2con.com/pub/w/40/speakers.html). John Battelle, Web 2.0 Program Chair, said "At the Web 2.0 Conference a year ago, we gathered to discuss the implications of the Web becoming a platform. This year, we're taking it further, focusing not just on declaring the platform, but showing where the innovation is happening and what we might expect in the coming year. Web 2.0 attendees will be immediately plugged into the ecosystem of the new Internet and allowed to make connections vital to their business strategy."
Web 2.0 is produced by MediaLive International, Inc. and O'Reilly Media, Inc. The cost to attend is $2,795.
