Global Sources has soft-launched its Global Sources Direct service for eBay Powersellers. The site is part of an agreement with eBay, announced in June at eBay's annual conference, designed to make it easier for eBay PowerSellers to buy smaller quantity lots directly from China.

As part of the agreement, Global Sources has been listing auctions on eBay under the ID GlobalSourcesDirect. Global Sources is now adding a fixed-price format via the GlobalSourcesDirect.com website, which is hosted on the eBay ProStores platform. eBay announced ProStores at its June conference (http://www.auctionbytes.com/cab/abn/y05/m06/i23/s11).

Global Sources sells products on eBay and on Global Sources Direct on a consignment basis. The company posts listings, handles payment collection on behalf of the supplier, facilitates and coordinates the shipping and logistics, and handles customer service.

As part of the agreement with eBay, Global Sources also works with China suppliers to sell on the domestic China eBay site and works with suppliers to sell through the eBay Resellers marketplace.
