Auction Inn and Blue Ridge Communications announced the premiere of a new television show, the Auction Inn Showcase. The show provides a unique twist on showing one-of-a-kind antiques, collectibles, art, and other items from individuals and dealers in the south central Pennsylvania area - viewers can actually buy the items seen on the show.
The show's format is educational and informative, highlighting histories and unique markings of each special item. The showcase items will be offered on Auction Inn's eBay store in 7-10 day auctions, providing viewers with the opportunity to bid on and buy the items shown on the program.
The premiere episode features a guest appearance by Mary Ellen Kiernan, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Lancaster. Highlighted items include an early 1900s flannel tobacco flag quilt, a metal "shell art" lamp with the 1935 baseball all star game history hammered in, silver Japanese novelty salt and pepper shakers, Japanese Maoriage porcelain set, and an interview with a 103-year old artist Ruth Sneider conducted by Boys & Girls Club member Savannah King.
Auction Inn Showcase will air exclusively on Blue Ridge Cable-11 in Northern Lancaster County. A new episode will air each Thursday at 7:30 pm and can also be seen Friday at 9:30 am, Sunday at 1:30 pm, Monday at 9:00 am and Tuesday at 6:30 pm.
Auction Inn provides a community eBay marketing service that includes an embedded job-training program. They have partnered with the Boys & Girls Club of Lancaster to raise additional revenue and provide marketable first time job skills to their members. Trainees learn multi-media production during the filming of the Auction Inn Showcase as part of the core curriculum of the job skills training program.
