PayPal announced plans to expand its La Vista, Nebraska operations center, adding a new building in La Vista's Southport East Business Park. The new building is scheduled to be completed in the second half of 2006 and will total more than 125,000 square feet.

"PayPal has experienced phenomenal growth since we opened our doors just a few years ago, and our team in La Vista continues to expand to support this growth," said Ryan Downs, vice president of worldwide operations for PayPal. "With its highly skilled and diverse workforce, it's clear that the Omaha area is a great home for PayPal, and we're proud to support the continued growth of our local community."

PayPal's current facility opened in 2003 with about 500 employees. Today, PayPal has grown to well over 1,000 employees in La Vista dedicated to PayPal's customer service, risk operations, payment processing and sales. PayPal is planning to add about 600 additional employees in La Vista in the next year, including merchant support specialists, risk management experts, and experienced sales agents.

PayPal was recently named one of the top five best places to work in Omaha for 2005, by the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce.
