UK auction site eBid is planning to officially launch its U.S. site next week. The eBid U.S. launch follows an eight-month pilot program that attracted over 10,000 U.S. buyers and sellers. Site enhancements suggested by new members have been implemented prior to official launch.

As part of the U.S. kickoff, eBid is offering new customers a Lifetime Gold Membership (a $79.99 value) "for the same price as posting a single item on eBay - $1.20," the company announced. Lifetime Gold Members enjoy zero listing fees, zero final value fees, zero reserve price fees, zero BuyNow fees and a free eBid Stores service. eBid says it has hundreds of thousands of auction items in over 3,500 product categories, and also offers "Wanted" ads.
