Online newsletter PaidContent.org reports on a new rumor about Google's plans, this one called Google Automat. "Automat creates a contextual ad identical in appearance to Google AdWords, which now run down the right side of every Google search-results page. Automat can create a free-standing Web page to serve as the product description page." PaidContent cites a report in Classified Intelligence Report.

Meanwhile, ChannelAdvisor CEO Scot Wingo reported on his blog that he heard a rumor from a Wall Street source that "Google is looking at bringing eBay into the fold."

It's pure rumor and speculation as to whether eBay is even in play, but bloggers see some interesting possibilities, such as Sramana Mitra's ponderings on a Yahoo bid for eBay (http://sramanamitra.com/blog/158).
