Vendio's Toolbar Scours Deals from eBay and Ecommerce Sites

Vendio officially launched its Dealio comparison-shopping toolbar after having announced the beta test version in August. Dealio is a toolbar that operates within a consumer's Web browser and offers a fully automated way to find the best deals on the Web.

Vendio said the Dealio toolbar is the first comparison-shopping engine to incorporate auction and fixed price listings from hundreds of thousands of eBay sellers, further expanding the range of prices for everything from digital cameras to plasma TVs, MP3 players, cell-phones and more. The toolbar also displays the latest deals from many of the largest online retailers, including major brands such as Sony Style, Wal-Mart, Target, Amazon.com, Circuit City, OfficeMax, Dell, Best Buy, Overstock.com. and RitzCamera.

eBay listings appear in separate tabs, organized by fixed price versus auctions so that users can easily compare prices among listings of the same type. Further, Vendio has leveraged more than seven years experience developing on the eBay platform to create a proprietary search method that provides greater relevance and filtering of eBay items for the Dealio Toolbar. This unique process includes both an automated algorithm and human review to ensure Dealio Toolbar users receive a complete set of relevant eBay search results while filtering out items that would otherwise distract users from their intended purchases.

Vendio markets eBay sales-management services and tools, including Sales Manager Inventory Edition (named by eBay as the most innovative application for the eBay platform in 2005), Vendio Gallery and Vendio Image Hosting. Consumers can download Dealio at no charge.

There is a $50 one-time set-up fee for merchants that is being waived through the end of 2005. Merchants provide a feed to Dealio (similar to those provided to services like Froogle). There is no charge for standard placement, whose listings appear in any Dealio search. The lowest-priced listing always appears at the top of the list underneath two featured slots. There will be fees for premium placement, and set-up fees are applied toward such fees. Interested sellers must register as a Dealio merchant partner on the site.
