eBay Launches 'Get It Fast' Feature for Holiday Shoppers

Reading AuctionBytes: eBay Launches 'Get It Fast' Feature for Holiday Shoppers

eBay is launching a "Get It Fast" search feature for holiday shoppers. Buyers who want last-minute gifts can search eBay for Buy It Now items from domestic sellers who state in their listings that they will ship within one business day after receiving payment and offer an overnight shipping service.

Shoppers can click on the Advanced Search link near any search box to be able to search for Get It Fast items, or use the "Customize" link on the left-hand side of the search results page to add the Get It Fast filter to the search options.

Sellers who want items to appear in Get It Fast searches should set the new "domestic handling time" field to one day and should also select an overnight shipping method (although the buyer can still choose any other shipping method offered); then the seller should check the "Get It Fast" checkbox in the Sell Your Item form.

Buyers will also see an "As soon as" delivery date at the top of Get It Fast listings. This date is calculated by taking the current date, adding one business day for domestic handling time, and then adding the number of business days the seller's fastest expedited shipping service takes.

eBay set up an online discussion thread on the Packaging & Shipping discussion board with more details, a set of FAQs, and screenshots of what the item page changes will look like.
