PropertyRoom.com, an online-auction site serving law enforcement agencies and consumers, announced it has achieved third-party sales of more than $1 million in the month of November, three months after the launch of its new merchant seller program.
Prior to adding third-party merchants to the site, almost all of PropertyRoom.com's revenue was derived through online auctions of items received from the more than 540 police department clients that PropertyRoom.com contracts with nationwide.
PropertyRoom.com says that in its commitment to keep its site free from seller fraud, it requires third-party sellers' names and contact information to be transparent to the bidder, and it conducts a credit check and background check on each seller. PropertyRoom.com also reserves the right to reject a vendor for any reason. PropertyRoom.com has a waiting list of potential merchant sellers due to its due diligence process when adding merchants.
"The unique merchandise that we receive from our law enforcement clients gives our customers a reason to come visit us each day, and the superior service that they receive in a fraud-free shopping environment keeps them coming back," said Tom Lane, founder and chairman of PropertyRoom.com.
