'Pop Culture King' Gary Sohmers Debuts on AuctionBytes TV
By Company-Issued Press Release

December 02, 2005

AuctionBytes.TV announced the debut of a new program, "Collecting Stuff with Gary Sohmers," for their Internet Television Network. Each episode of "Collecting Stuff" will give the story behind a different collectible or piece of memorabilia, and give viewers an appreciation of what gives the collectible value.

In the first episode, Gary Sohmers, the "King of Pop Culture," takes a look at a 1960's Beatles album cover, commonly referred to as the "Butcher" cover. After their first album, The Beatles used cover artwork to protest Capitol Records compilation album, "The Beatles Yesterday and Today," and the record company quickly replaced the cover with a tamer version. In addition to telling the tale, Sohmers explains what makes this album a highly desirable treasure and what to look for when assessing value of the Beatles album.

Gary Sohmers, known as the "King of Pop Culture," operates Wex Rex Collectibles (http://www.allcollectors.com). Sohmers has been a featured guest on many television and radio programs over the past 30 years and is quoted regularly in national print for his expert knowledge of the value and history of collectible objects. As a lecturer, he speaks at historical societies, schools, libraries, corporations, antiques shows, appraisal and other special events. He appears as an appraiser of Toys, Collectibles and Memorabilia on the Emmy Nominated PBS television program Antiques Roadshow and produced and hosted his own syndicated talk radio show, Calling All Collectors.

You can find the "Collecting Stuff with Gary Sohmers" program on the Education channel of AuctionBytes.TV at http://auctionbytes.tv/education. The first episode can be found online at: http://digbig.com/4fmxp

The AuctionBytes TV network features several channels containing exclusive programming about ecommerce, online auctions and collecting. The network debuted in September with the twice-monthly "AuctionBytes News in Review" program featuring news about the online-auction industry. All of the programs are free of charge and can be watched online at anytime at http://www.auctionbytes.tv.
