eBay continues to roll out its new safe-payments policy globally. In October, eBay announced it would limit the payment methods sellers could accept in eBay listings (http://www.auctionbytes.com/cab/abn/y05/m10/i17/s01). The new policy specifically excludes cash and instant cash-transfer services such as Western Union. eBay told U.S. users it would begin enforcing the policy on January 15, 2006.

It announced the safe-payments policy in the UK on December 18 (http://www2.ebay.com/aw/uk/200512181208022.html), and in Canada on December 21 (http://www2.ebay.com/aw/ca/200512210951342.html).

eBay allows its own PayPal service and specifically bans Stormpay, Greenzap, e-gold payments and eBullion.
