Mpire is adding to its suite of tools for eBay sellers with the launch of Mpire Researcher. The tool gives eBay sellers information to help them make profitable listing decisions. Users type in the item they wish to sell, and Researcher shows listing recommendations, such as best starting price, average selling price, listing length and keywords, based on eBay market data from the last 30 days of closed items.
Mpire Researcher offers free usage up to 100 searches for the first 30 days, then 10 free searchers per month, with the ability to purchase additional searches for as low as 10 cents each. Mpire licenses the eBay market data from Terapeak, a licensed eBay market-data reseller.
Mpire also announced a referral rewards program in which anyone who refers five or more people who sign up and validate an Mpire Researcher account earns a $25 eBay gift certificate. Mpire is also holding a contest. Visitors to Mpire's website can enter to win a trip for two to eBay Live 2006, eBay's community conferencing being held in Las Vegas June 13-15, 2006. Signing up for the Mpire Researcher product does not automatically enter someone into the drawing, see website for details and restrictions.
Update: Aers Inc., owner of Terapeak, informed us that Mpire is using the Terapeak Research API. They are not licensing eBay Market Data, and Terapeak is not an eBay Market Data reseller. Its sister company DataUnison, which is completely separate from Terapeak, is a reseller of eBay market-data licenses. http://www.aers.ca
