Overstock Auctions Launches O-Gallery

Overstock Auctions has introduced a new cross-promotion selling tool that helps buyers view other items sellers have for sale. The tool automatically displays photographs of other items the seller has up for sale in the view-item page of the item buyers are currently viewing. O-Gallery is free for all sellers and will show up automatically provided a seller has more than one item listed on Overstock.

The tool is provided by Sellathon, a company well known for its ViewTracker software for eBay listings (http://www.sellathon.com). Last year, Sellathon entered into a deal with Overstock to provide its traffic-tracking tool to Overstock, called O-Tracker, which is also provided to sellers at no charge.

Wayne Yeager, President of Sellathon, said, "Buyer interaction with O-Gallery shows up in sellers' O-Tracker statistics. In other words, if a customer clicks on a link in the gallery and goes to another auction, the seller will know which auction the visitor was looking at, and which auctions the visitor came to."

Assistant Vice-President of Overstock Auctions J.T. Stephens said he estimates O-Gallery will increase page views by as much as 30 percent on the auction site. "We are very excited to provide our buyers and sellers with the O-Galleries," said Stephens. We believe that the tool will dramatically improve the customer experience, increase views per auction, and ultimately lead to increased sell-through rates."

Seller reaction to the new feature was positive on the Overstock discussion board (http://digbig.com/4gakm).
