eBay is running a 2-week promotion in the Tickets category during which it will waive insertion fees, but will charge higher commission fees. From January 24 - February 7, insertion fees for Fixed Price listings in the Tickets category will be free. Instead, a flat 10 percent Final Value Fee will be charged when the listing closes. (All other fees apply, see website for details and restrictions.)
Perhaps not coincidentally, the biggest football game in the US will be played on February 5th when the Seattle Seahawks will play against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Does eBay hope to score a touchdown with Super Bowl ticket listings?
FatLens.com, which says it is the only website that searches all ticket sellers on the Web, including StubHub, RazorGator, eBay and Craigslist, has evaluated more than 2,150 Super Bowl tickets still available and found that the prices currently range from $1,825-$315,000 (http://www.fatlens.com).
