Email solutions provider HostedSupport.com said a survey of eBay sellers shows they are overwhelmed with the volume of emails they receive. The company surveyed a cross-section of eBay sellers and found that 69 percent of their customer support questions and issues came in by email, and that the volume of email was preventing 46 percent of the sellers from putting more auction listings online.
HostedSupport.com has launched ezSupport for eBay, a web-based, hosted solution. Sellers type in answers to common questions on the HostedSupport website to build a knowledgebase of questions and answers. Typical questions include inquiries on shipping policies, sales tax polices, as well as product-specific questions such as sizes or colors.
ezSupport for eBay knowledgebase is integrated with eBay's "Ask the seller a question." When a buyer asks the seller a question, the buyer's question is compared to that seller's knowledgebase of questions and answers. The company said typically, over 80 percent of buyer questions can be automatically answered by the knowledgebase, which sends the answer via email to the buyer. If the knowledgebase can not answer the question, then these questions go to an inbox where they can be reviewed and answered by support representatives.
ezSupport for eBay costs $9.95 per support rep per month and is available on a month-to-month subscription basis. HostedSupport.com also offers ezSupport Lite for eBay, a free introductory version of the product. ezSupport for eBay is compatible with Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Firefox and Safari web browsers and works with Windows and Macintosh computers. HostedSupport.com is headquartered in Los Angeles, California and says clients and partners include eBay, PCMall, E! Online, TicketWeb, NetMagazines.com, Salesnet, Yahoo Search Marketing, BrandMuscle, MyGolfBallStore, eBoz, Roving, Bravenet and ePublicEye.
