Rocketboom's eBay auction for the opportunity to be the first advertiser on its vlog received a high bid of $40,000 last week. Rocketboom is a daily videoblog (vlog) based in New York City and is one of the most popular video shows online. Rocketboom's eBay auction was for five original commercials to run March 6 - 10, 2006, to be played at the conclusion of the Rocketboom episodes.
Rocketboom has been featured in news articles and on CBS Evening News for its innovative Internet video programming. Rocketboom's eBay auction stated that the program reaches a minimum of 130,000 people per day, and each day's video, over the course of several days, receives over 200,000 complete views. Rocketboom is also available on TiVo via TV over internet protocol.
