AuctionCause has organized an eBay charity auction event in which winning bidders can talk to celebrities for 10 minutes via eBay's newly acquired Skype service. AuctionCause has organized many high-profile charity events on eBay, including brands such as NASCAR (benefiting the Northwest Louisiana Food Bank), Captain Morgan Rum Company (benefiting the New Orleans Hospitality Workers Disaster Relief Fund), and 17 prominent authors (benefiting the First Amendment Project). The Skype-a-Celeb auctions kicked off on February 21st and benefit the Art of Elysium, an organization that encourages actors, artists and musicians to dedicate their time and talent to hospitalized children. Participating celebrities include Brooke Shields, Melissa Etheridge, Sara Gilbert and Penelope Cruz.
