eBay revealed more details about its eBay Express marketplace to be launched in the Spring. On Thursday, eBay provided a list of categories that will be included, and also provided a list of excluded categories.
Item Condition, which contains values like New, Used or Refurbished, is a required field to be included in eBay Express. Thus, antiquarian and collectible books, for example, will be excluded from the Express site. However, there will be some exceptions. eBay said there are also categories where Item Condition is not relevant for a product, such as Tickets. In these cases, Item Condition will not be introduced in these categories, but they will be included within eBay Express at launch (http://www2.ebay.com/aw/core/200603021554252.html).
eBay announced eBay Express site in January, saying it would contain Store and fixed-price listings from U.S.-based sellers on eBay.com that can be purchased right away. eBay Express will contain a shopping cart, and buyers will be required to use PayPal or a credit card to make a purchase. Only sellers with a 98 percent positive feedback score of at least 100 will be eligible to sell on eBay Express, and they must also accept PayPal.
eBay Canada told users this week that Canadian-registered members with items located in the U.S. will be able to list items on eBay Express when it launches (http://www2.ebay.com/aw/ca/200603011204332.html).
