eBay's ProStores told its merchants it was rolling back Checkout Redirect "as quickly as possible" after having introduced enhancements to the feature with the release of Version 6.1 of ProStores late last month (http://www.prostores.com/newfeatures).
eBay launched ProStores in June 2005 as a way for eBay sellers to create an independent store that is integrated with eBay. However, sellers are complaining that integration between ProStores and eBay is less than perfect.
ProStores rolled out a new version that used eBay's Checkout Redirect feature "intended to address the ProStores merchant need of wanting to charge different shipping rates for eBay items vs ProStores items." But on March 11, ProStores told its sellers it would roll back the Checkout Redirect feature because the ability to pull over shipping costs for eBay listings only works with a single item and single shipping service.
ProStores said it would roll back the Checkout Redirect feature to its original form where the ProStores cart is the application that will calculates shipping cost. This will allow multiple listings and shipping discounts to be handled the ProStores cart.
