The New York Times reported on Friday that the Ashcroft Group is providing public relations advice for a patent infringement case to come before the Supreme Court. Former U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft started the Aschroft Group to use his experience and connections with the Justice Department to lobby for clients. The Times stated fees for such lobbyists can go as high as $900 an hour.
The Hill reports the Ashcroft Group's Juleanna Glover Weiss, a former aide to Vice President Cheney, is lobbying for eBay (http://www.hillnews.com/thehill/export/TheHill/Business/021406_bottomline.html). O'Dwyer PR said eBay hired the company to help on patent reform issues in an article titled, "Ashcroft Does Ebay's Bidding."
