eBay auction-management service InkFrog has acquired competitor SpareDollar. InkFrog's co-founder Greg Sisung announced the news on Monday on the SpareDollar forums to communicate with users before issuing a press release.
Sisung said Tomas Salas, who founded SpareDollar, will be joining the InkFrog team. Sisung wrote in part, "I wanted to make this announcement here on the forums first because I know you all have had many questions about what has been happening with Sparedollar over the last several months. During this time we have been working with Tomas on this acquisition and are pleased to say it's finally here! Tomas will become a partner in inkFrog and be working with us."
InkFrog and SpareDollar offer tools to allow eBay sellers to list and manage auctions on eBay. InkFrog has a Premium plan for $7.95/month and a Pro plan for $12.95/month (http://ww1.inkfrog.com/index.php?file=plans), and SpareDollar costs $8.95/month (http://www.sparedollar.com/corp/pricing.asp).
However, the companies have developed brand new software that "has the ease of use of SpareDollar and the powerful features of inkFrog" that will be available in the coming weeks, according to Monday's forum post.
