Rick Conard is owner of BigFatAuction, an eBay consignment service. BigFatAuction allows consumers and businesses nationwide to send items to its processing center in Newport Tennessee, where it will list the items for sale on eBay. First, consignors go through an online appraisal process, and if the item is approved, BigFatAuction provides a pre-paid UPS shipping labels which they affix to their boxed items and drop-off at any of the 3,900 UPS offices nationwide.
Like an eBay drop-off store, BigFatAuction handles the photography, listing, management of the entire sales process, shipping the items and collecting payment for the seller.
The company showcases items on its own website as well as on its eBay store. Conard said the company, founded in mid 2005, has grown every month and said website traffic has grown substantially since launching a Google Adword campaign.
