AuctionBytes.TV has published a video interview with ChannelAdvisor President and CEO Scot Wingo to discuss eBay's soon-to-be-launched marketplace called eBay Express. eBay is expected to launch the new site as early as this month.
eBay, which announced the new specialty site in January, said eBay Express site would contain Store and fixed-price listings from U.S.-based sellers on eBay.com that could be purchased right away.
In an interview with AuctionBytes.TV, Scot Wingo reviews some of the key attributes of the new site and what it will mean for buyers and sellers. Wingo explains how eBay Express will make it easier for buyers to find items they are looking for using eBay's new Magellan technology. He also discusses the risks for sellers due to a requirement that sellers be willing to send items to unconfirmed PayPal addresses.
As an auction management service provider, Wingo has a unique perspective on this new online marketplace from eBay and shares his insights and opinions. eBay Express will contain a shopping cart, and buyers will be required to use PayPal or a credit card to make a purchase. Only sellers with a 98 percent positive feedback score of at least 100 will be eligible to sell on eBay Express, and they must also accept PayPal. Wingo said sellers who qualify but don't want listings included in eBay Express must be proactive in opting out of the new marketplace.
