UK drop-off store chain Auctioning4u said it is teaming up with children's charity Barnardo's to launch a mobile-phone recycling initiative. Auctioning4u will sell the donated phones on eBay with a percentage of the final sale price going to the charity in order to help them serve underprivileged children.

Auctioning4u said Barnardo's currently receives between 20p and 7 pounds for each mobile phone that is donated, but expects that under the new eBay scheme, sales could rise to twenty times that amount. Owners can donate their old mobile phone at any UK Barnardo's charity shop or Auctioning4u shop.
