LiveDeal.com, a local online classifieds sites, announced Greg LeClaire has joined the company as vice president, finance and administration. In this role, LeClaire will be responsible for financial reporting and related internal controls, resource optimization, development and implementation of strategic initiatives, and other high-level finance and administrative programs. Before joining LiveDeal, LeClaire held a variety of senior financial positions with Utah Medical Products, most recently serving as the company’s vice president and chief financial officer.

LiveDeal recently announced it now has more than $5 billion worth of goods listed on the site and more than 1.2 million unique monthly visitors. LiveDeal was founded by Rajesh Navar, an original member of eBay's engineering team.

Navar will be a featured speaker at the International Classified Media Association's (ICMA) General Meeting, taking place in Toronto from May 11-13, 2006. Navar's session looks to the future and lays out several scenarios of the evolution of advertising from paper to digital platforms and how these will all be integrated. Among other topics, Navar will share his vision of how newspapers can benefit from expanded advertising platforms and embrace the shift to online rather than fight it.
