PayPal's Trust & Safety department is offering a new program for PayPal registered users in the United States. The Equifax Credit Alerts for PayPal Users program provides users with early warnings about potential identity theft, with automatic email notification if there's a credit inquiry or a significant balance inquiry.
PayPal is providing its users with the program in partnership with Equifax, one of the three major consumer credit reporting companies in the U.S. There is no charge for using the service.
PayPal and Equifax will host an online workshop on identity protection on Monday, June 5th, from 1 p.m. PT to 2 p.m PT, to answer questions about the new program.
