Overstock.com held a party for its auction sellers and the attendees of eBay's user conference in Las Vegas last week. AuctionBytes sat down and talked to Overstock.com's CEO Patrick Byrne, who shared his insight on the industry.

Bryne said he hears from sellers that one of the compelling aspects of the Overstock.com Auctions platform is that there are still margins there. Byrne also addressed his battle with Wall Street and why he felt he could not back down from the fight.

About eBay, Byrne said, "eBay has all the leverage,... the sellers are never going to be able to extract a fair deal," so Overstock.com designed its auction site to give people everything they were asking for from eBay but weren't getting.
