Representatives from iSold It's UK licensor spoke to AuctionBytes.TV about the opportunities for consignment selling on eBay UK. Phillip Molloy, master licensor for iSold It eBay drop-off stores in the UK, launched in March and plans to open 300 stores there.
Phillip Molloy, Managing Director, and Caroline Harfield, Marketing Director, said eBay is exactly the same in the UK as in the US, and eBay has really took hold there.
"In the UK, we're a nation of hoarders and collectors," said Molloy, who has had customers bring such things as antique cameras and old hunting gear. There are five primetime television programs featuring antiques, such as Flog it, Antiques Roadshow, Cash in the Attic, so the time for drop-off category in the UK is the right time, he said.
